The Founding and Charter Fellows
The two Founding Fellows of the Society were George H. Imbrie and Robert I. Clegg. Both of them died in 1931, just as the rest of the intended 40 Fellows were to be named. The first 40 Fellows named after Imbrie and Clegg are known as Charter Fellows.
